"Show Me the Money" for MoBARF

Reasonable people ask: "Where can the money possibly come from to fund MoBARF?"  Based on the response of FBC Malden to MoBARF ($100 per month for 24 months), there will need to be more than 416 other churches to match that level of giving.

Quite frankly, it is beyond a leap of faith to make the numbers work.

We offer one small bit of analysis-- as we admit it is more than stretching the limit.

How many Missouri churches will it take to equal 417?

There are 37 churches and missions in the Two Rivers Association.  This association is the home of FBC O'Fallon (pastored by Gary Taylor, chair of the Legal Task Force, and of Roger Moran, the leader of Project 1000 whose spirit and demeanor now pervade the heart and fiber of MBC life.

There are 33 churches and missions in the Black River Association.  This is the Association that FBC Malden belongs to.

There are 39 churches and missions in Concord Association.  This is the association of former MBC president Monte Shinkle and Concord Baptist Church.  Concord Church is one of the six churches fronting for the MBC in bringing the lawsuit against five Missouri Baptist institutions.

There are 22 churches and missions in Harrison Association.  This is the association for FBC Bethany.  FBC is one of the six churches fronting for the MBC in bringing the lawsuit against five Missouri Baptist institutions.

There are 60 churches and missions in the Tri-County AssociationTri-County has gone on record as supporting the lawsuit against the five institutions.  FBC Branson is a member of this association.  FBC is one of the six churches fronting for the MBC in bringing the lawsuit against five Missouri Baptist institutions.

There are 38 churches and missions  in Jefferson Association.  This is the association for FBC Arnold.  FBC is one of the six churches fronting for the MBC in bringing the lawsuit against five Missouri Baptist institutions.

There are 119 churches and missions in the Blue River-Kansas City Association.  This is the association for Oakwood Baptist Church.  Oakwood is one of the six churches fronting for the MBC in bringing the lawsuit against five Missouri Baptist institutions.  Blue River-Kansas City has several churches, however, that would be "disqualified" from membership in the Missouri Baptist Convention under the new leadership since they are also affiliated with National Baptists, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship/CBF of Missouri, and/or BGCM.

There are 69 churches and missions in the Greene Association.  This is the association for Springhill Baptist Church, formerly pastored by Kenny Qualls, now an upper-level bureaucrat with the Missouri Baptist Convention.  Springhill is one of the six churches fronting for the MBC in bringing the lawsuit against five Missouri Baptist institutions.

Do the math.  That's 417 churches.  Just barely enough to generate $1,000,000 over the next 24 months for MoBARF.  Will each of the churches in these Associations "step up to the plate" as Roger Moran boasts?
