The Quiz

What if you are still not sure about Roger Moran and the credibility of what he says.  Is he believable?  Is he not trustworthy?  We provide four simple questions.  How you answer these questions may say more about you than the groups Moran attacks.

These questions will help you discern if partnering with organizations such as CBF/CBF of Missouri and/or Baptist General Convention of Missouri are viable for you.  On the other hand, you may discover you are very comfortable with those organizations that Roger Moran is a member of.

Decide for yourself.

Questions Yes No Maybe
1. Do you tend to believe the headlines on grocery store tabloids?  Do you believe they are telling a “real story” that the “mainstream media” won’t tell?
2. Do you know enough to respect the person who makes allegations about the Baptist General Convention of Missouri and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship?
3. Are you willing to vouch for the personal character, integrity, and credibility of the person making allegations about Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Baptist General Convention of Missouri?
4. Would you be willing to have as your Sunday School teacher, as a deacon, as a leader with the children and young men and women of your church, the person making allegations about CBF and BGCM leaders?

How to score your answers

IF you can answer YES to these questions, you will believe the negative material distributed by Moran about CBF, BGCM and other similar organization.  You would not be interested in participating in their work and ministries.  You would feel more comfortable with Missouri Baptist Laymen's Association, the Missouri Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

IF you answer NO to these questions, you have put 2 and 2 together.  If you are a traditional type of Baptist, you would be right at home with a mainstream Baptist organization that focuses on missions, the local church, and Baptist values.

IF you answer MAYBE to these questions, you will want and need to use the spiritual gift of discernment.  As our mothers taught us, just because someone says something does not make it true.  You use common sense when you watch political attack ads – use the same sense when you read or hear a person with an agenda make attacks on mainstream Baptists and organizations.  With discernment, continue to read and learn.  As you have questions ask them.  Good people don’t have anything to hide.
